Read and the answer the questions on the Prince Henry reading I gave to you in class today. I'm attaching a copy if you need to print one in order to do it.
Read "Portugal Begins the Age of Exploration" and answer the questions. Also, if you want to rewatch any parts of the video from class here's how you go about doing that. Go to www.discoveryeducation.com.
Log in using the following info. Username is wcp+your lunch #. So if your lunch is 1234567, your username is wcp1234567. Your password is your lunch number with nothing added onto it. So again, I would type username: wcp1234567, password: 1234567 Once logged in, search for "The Great Age of Discovery 1400-1550" and you can either watch the entire video or if you scroll down slightly below the video player, you can select different video segments that you would like to watch again. If you didn't finish the Web Quest in class today, FINISH IT!!!!!
Also, you have the PowerPoint that I assigned yesterday, that's due Monday!! The questions and PowerPoint are both in Google Classroom. There are only 15 questions to answer, however, it repeats over and over so don't think that you have more than 15 questions. Here is the link for the webquest, part 1: geography.about.com/od/historyofgeography/a/ageexploration.htm
You are just going to complete #1-12 for homework tonight. Those #s are the ones covered by the link above In order to complete the worksheet I handed out to you in class today, you'll need to log-in to www.curriculumpathways.com
Your username is: westlake There is no password. At the top-right of the website there is the Quick Launch box. Enter the Quick Launch # (which is 176) here. Under the "Research" tab is where you will find the links to the websites needed in order to answer the questions and fill out the chart. The questions don't need to be answered in complete sentences. The chart needs 4-5 "Benefits" and 4-5 "Challenges". Complete the "Which Version is Better" portion of today's class activity. Read each historian's account of how the pyramids were built. In the big box for each historian, write a 2 sentence summary of how that historian believes the pyramids were built. In the small box, draw a quick little sketch showing how the pyramids were built using that information. I've attached both the reading and the chart for you to use if you don't have it with you.
Please write a 6-sentence paragraph summarizing the class expectations we discussed today. Also, please get any other beginning of the year materials signed ASAP!
I've attached the Marshall Plan worksheet. Please open it and answer the questions on notebook paper, or download it and print it. Follow the instructions outlined on the worksheet. Please complete parts 1, 2 and 3.
Read the attached article on 3 facets of the Cold War. Fill out the notes sheet according to the directions.
Read the attached PowerPoint and fill out the notes sheet I gave you in class today after the quiz.
Complete part 1 of the SAS #198 Apartheid worksheet. Please remember that the version of the worksheet I gave you is not the updated version you need. Refer to the "Respond" version on SAS #198 but please just write your answers on the worksheet I gave you so that you save paper and ink.
Due to the rearrangement of our schedule around track 1's testing, we haven't been able to complete the note cards. So I'm pushing the quiz back to Monday, and I'm including the definition list here so it can be studied.
