BYOD EXPECTATIONS
Students are expected to follow and respect the BYOD contract at all times. Please review it periodically to make sure you understand the expectations and locations where you may use your phone. Are you in the market for a learning device?
If you would ask most teachers - they would tell you that a phone is not the best learning device. Often there are many distractions - messaging, social media, gaming apps, etc. and on top of that they are too easy to conceal and be off task while in the classroom. Our recommendation to you if you happen to be in the market and considering our opinion - would be for a small laptop that students could continue to use for years to come. A keyboard and larger screen for reading are wonderful benefits to to the classroom learning environment with minimal distractions. The small laptops are backpack friendly and tend to not be easily lost or left in desks when transitioning between classes. Dead Battery? Students are encouraged to have a portable battery charger in their backpack. Students are not allowed to "borrow" wall chargers of our school devices or plug in devices with their own charger. It creates an opportunity for theft and is against our BYOD policy. Please review contract/policy if you have any questions. Thank you. |
